Operations Manager

Job Description

At Show Me Rents, we owe our success to the efficiency of our organizational processes. To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking an experienced operations manager to oversee daily activities. As an ideal candidate, you will have a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity. Additionally, you will display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team. Your ultimate responsibility is to increase our operational efficiency at Show Me Rents.

Objectives of this Role

  • Maintain constant communication with ownership and staff to ensure proper operations of the organization
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity
  • Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives that will continue to help the growth of the company and its efficiency
  • Ensure operational activities remain on time
  • Track staffing requirements 

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment

  • Interface with customers via phone and in person capturing sales and rental income.

  • Maintain shop efficiency by maintaining appearance of common areas, organizing procedures, handling correspondence, managing filing systems, and overseeing supplies and equipment

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the shop as the main point of contact in the front desk area, keeping ownership informed of performance with routine and requested reporting

  • Partner with management teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems

  • Oversee materials and inventory management

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of office management experience

  • Strong time-management and people skills, flexibility, and multitasking ability

  • Advanced computer skills and experience with online platforms

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Previous success in office management

  • Engaging personality and optimistic outlook

  • Experience developing internal systems

  • Ability to handle confidential information

 

Rental Associate

Rental Associate

Job Description

At Show Me Rents, our rental associates are the welcoming faces that greet customers and provide them with a superior rental experience. We’re searching for a qualified rental associate to add to our team, and to provide the excellent customer service and support we’re known for. The ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator who has a knack for building relationships. With a keen eye on customer satisfaction, the rental associate answers questions, handles complaints, and maintains a clean, well-organized sales floor. Helps our drivers and customers load and unload equipment. You are the driving force behind new and ongoing sales opportunities — directly impacting our growth and success.   

Objectives of this Role

  • Provide superior customer service, placing heavy importance on brand experience and customer engagement/satisfaction

  • Serve as the brand ambassador, developing and nurturing strong relationships with customers

  • Learn customers’ needs and wants and personalize rental opportunities to address them

  • Meet sales projections, generate ongoing sales opportunities, and achieve company and individual KPI goals

  • Work as a team player, upholding company policies in all aspects of customer service and contributing to a positive working environment

  • Connects with customers with a teachable mentality, drawing out what the customer is wanting to achieve. Suggesting the right tools for the right application by demonstrating knowledge.

  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized product floor/yard, and ensure a welcoming, customer-friendly environment

  • Maintain updated knowledge on current products, pricing, and promotions

  • Manage financial transactions and purchases using cash registers and appropriate software systems

  • Follow through on an exceptional customer experience by presenting customers with product promotions and rental opportunities as identified through conversation. Suggesting selling and upselling.

  • Develop and implement cross-selling strategies for appropriate products

  • Assist customers and drivers with loading/unloading equipment

Driver

Driver

Job Description

Show Me Rents is looking for a responsible, organized, and safety-conscious driver to join our team. In this role, you’ll pick up and transport equipment and dumpsters between our locations, as well as making deliveries directly to customers.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of safe, skillful driving. If you enjoy being behind the wheel and are interested in seeing new places and meeting new people, this is the role for you!

Objectives of this Role

  • Securely deliver equipment to designated locations in a timely fashion

  • Comply with all traffic laws and company safety regulations

  • Maintain a clean and operational vehicle

  • Represent the company well in interactions with customers and the general public

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the local area and most efficient routes

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles to make pickups and deliveries

  • Help with loading and unloading vehicles

  • Complete pre- and post-trip safety and operations checklists and documentation

  • Use navigational technology to find and follow optimal routes

  • Assist with regular vehicle inspections, arranging maintenance when required

  • Refuel vehicles and ensure they’re always ready for use

  • In the absence of deliveries, will provide upkeep and maintenance on equipment and facilities. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Clean driving record for at least one year

  • Ability to drive for extended periods

  • Strong commitment to safety

  • Excellent navigational skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver’s license

  • Prior experience driving in a professional capacity

  • Experience using GPS technology

Mechanic

Mechanic

Job Description

At Show Me Rents, smooth processes and systems are the key to our success. We’re in need of a mechanic with excellent organizational skills, a people person who will also diagnose simple and complex equipment issues. As well as, perform routine maintenance on equipment.  The ideal candidate is skilled at using advanced computer diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot issues. Knows how to perform cost-effective solutions and keeps equipment in tip top shape.  In this role, you will get your hands dirty while working safely with customers and equipment. This person must have the ability to manage time efficiently and will be able to differentiate priorities. The person who fills this role will desire to grow with Show Me Rents and will have a “can-do” attitude, which looks for needs and fills them. 

 

Objectives of this Role

 

  • Identify and implement positive changes in cost reduction and waste elimination

  • Ensure peak organizational operations and provide preventative measures by identifying issues

  • Engage with customers to understand their concerns and effectively diagnose problems, using the latest diagnostic equipment

  • Follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs and preventative maintenance, documenting actions taken.

  • Perform repairs aiming for maximum reliability and cost savings for our business. 

  • Maintain a preventative maintenance program for all shop equipment

  • Ensure a safe, organized, and clean workspace

  • Oversee the guest experience and ensure a personal, friendly experience for anyone coming into the office, and maintain complete accessibility in both availability and warmth of character

 

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain timekeeping and personnel records

  • Updates software (Point of Rental (POR)) and ensures payment is collected, hours are tracked and POR is up to date.

  • Inspects and tests equipment and complete preventative maintenance including oil changes, engine tune-ups, track replacements. 

  • Carefully listen to operator complaints, conduct inspections, diagnose issues, repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, and replace parts and components. 

  • Verify work via test drives and adjustingments of controls and systems

  • Keep shop equipment functional by adhering to operating instructions

  • Answers phones and provides excellent customer experience when mechanical duties are completed.

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proven mechanical expertise and basic math skills

  • Proven experience with mechanic’s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment

Yard Technician

Job Description

At Show Me Rents, we strive to provide quality customer service. As a yard technician you will be interacting with customers on a daily basis to ensure they have the best experience possible by working as part of our team to make sure equipment is ready for rental, among other duties. This position includes a variety of tasks and the flexibility to be willing to shift focus, as needed.

Objectives of this Role

  • Serve as a team player and help to the rental associates and manager

  • Help the mechanic with day to day maintenance of machines

Daily Responsibilities

  • Ready all equipment for rentals, including cleaning, greasing, and fueling

  • Test equipment as it goes out and comes in to be sure it is functioning appropriately

  • Instruct customers on how to properly operate equipment

  • Help hook up trailers properly and safely for customers

  • Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment

  • Weedeating/maintaining SMR property-inside and out

  • Help maintain our yard waste facility

Skills and Qualifications

  • Fundamental knowledge of equipment and how it operates

  • Ability to listen and learn

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment 

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with a team
